CourtCall is like Zoom on steroids. It’s a sophisticated video conferencing platform designed exclusively for legal court proceedings. We worked with the CourtCall executives and their engineering team to design a user-friendly interface with advanced features for hosting and moderating multiple court rooms at one time.
Product strategy
Most of CourtCall’s end users are not digital-natives. So it was critical that we design their new user interface to be incredibly intuitive, especially for people who are not tech-savvy.
At the same time, we included unique functionality for court room moderators to manage participants in a way than you don’t see from a typical video conferencing tool like Zoom or Google Meet.
Side tray, all day
A critical feature of CourtCall’s software is the ability to move users around. Judges need to call on witnesses, which require sub-conference rooms for people to be staged in.
We created a powerful side tray where admins can move users around, all without leaving the video screen.

Admin for the win
The system admin roles were crucial in creating a smooth process for managing the court’s operations. We prioritized the admin dashboards throughout the process to make sure they meshed with the user’s experience.
The results
The final design system we delivered successfully solved the intricate needs of running a courtroom’s virtual meetings. All types of users are now able to accomplish their tasks in a faster and more intuitive way than ever.
