Whalar

Creator Economy
As the bricks still fall into place for the creator industry, Whalar is positioning itself to land at the top. After winning Adweek’s Creator Agency of the Year, Whalar knew they were about to garner a lot of attention. Their existing brand identity was simply a relic of the past that needed re-imagining, and we needed to quickly launch their new website to show all the amazing work they had done.

The Real Thing

Their existing brand mark had strong recognition in the industry, but was also a bit too literal of a reference to a whale.

Old Whalar logo
So we took the motif of a whale tail and found other ways it could be represented, ultimately landing on a mark that could be combined in various forms to create graphic elements and patterns across the website and other media.

We also amplified their new identity with a fresh color palette to capture the energy and excitement of the creators and brands they work with.

A new digital home

We made Whalar a bold website that speaks to both creators and brands, as well as show off their work and various services.

Target Audiences

The site needed to convey specific benefits to different target audiences, so we explored a variety of ways that the home page and navigation could direct visitors to the correct place.

Whalar has offered a robust SaaS platform, called Echo, since their inception that powered their brand partnerships division and served as the backbone for their client services team, creators, and brand partners.
And more recently, they added a second platform called Foam which steamlined the process for creators and their talent managers to work with brands and grow their creative businesses. However it had never been highlighted. So we added section on the site to bring potential clients behind the current to see how easy life could be.

Case Study Modular Template

Like any busy agency, most of the time is spent making killer work for your clients. So you never end up getting to show any of it off. So we created a case study modular template so the Whalar team could easily add previous projects to the site and the clearly state the type of impact they were making.
